afro style mag | notes from the editor
Amaka Nkele, CEO of Afrostyle magazine

we all have a dream that we want to fulfill. A wish upon a star that we hope and pray will come true. One thing that we should keep in mind is that we can live out our dreams however; it’s up to us to take the necessary steps to fulfill them. Sometimes fear of failure or lack of respect or support from Nay Sayers be it family, friends or acquaintances prevents us from seeking that which we want and so we cry our hearts out in frustration.
I will encourage you to believe in yourself. When you wake up in the morning and all you can think about is being a writer, singer, teacher, athlete, designer, photographer etc then that is a dream that you should make a reality. Slowly everything falls into place and success is yours because you’re finally Living The Dream.

In our 3rd issue, one of our countries of focus  is Kenya. Fused with Japan makes an extraordinary and colorful scene in our AfroFusion spread "When Kenya Met Japan" and in our AfroStreet "How to Wear...Safari Style" check out fantastic African inspired looks for the summer. Enjoy a trip to Egypt in AfroTravel and take in the amazing sights from the famous Sphinx to the Temple of Abu Simbel.

Other interesting editorial pieces are  'The Art of Money Spraying' by Funmi Feyide, 'Fela on Broadway' Show’ by Nneka Ezekwueche. A thought provoking article about Child Abuse by Ngozi Onyioha and an interesting article on the "Bushfire Music and Arts Festival" founder "Jiggs Thorne".

‘Thank you’ to our guest writers, photographers, stylists and makeup artists who contributed to the making of this issue and to Asia Kivman for a job well done. I also send a special 'Thank you' to you for taking the time to check out AfroStyle Magazine. Please send us an email at info@AfroStyleMag.com and let us know how AfroStyle Magazine can be of service to you and the community at large.
