Passion Fueled And Positive Energy

Energy. Hmmm. What is the definition of energy?

According to Physics, energy is the capacity of a physical system to perform work. Energy exists in several forms such as heat, kinetic or mechanical energy, light, potential energy, electrical, or other forms. Very technical isn't it? It even goes on further, but I think you get the gist, right? Think about it for a moment. Energy is even involved in thinking! Energy, in whatever form, is responsible for our every day survival. Our entire bodies are like thousands of batteries putting out impulses that stimulate our nervous system. Some of the batteries are fully charged and emit a strong positive energy while some of the weaker batteries produce negative energy. For the sake of this short article, let's just focus on personal energy and how it can affect what you do day in and day out. For example: When you roll out of bed in the morning - what are your first thoughts? When you finally get the crud flushed out of your eyes and cool water splashed on your face, and you sit down with your first cup of java - you start thinking about what you are planning to do for the day; - a simple routine, right? Before you know it, it's approaching lunchtime! Where did the morning go? Now you are scrambling trying to get everything done on your To Do list. Either that or maybe you just say "The heck with it. I don't feel like doing all that I needed to do since it's getting later in the day. I'll just do it tomorrow". Some of you, and probably a lot of you, are sitting there nodding your heads right now. You can identify, right? I know. Been there, done that myself. Change takes time. It doesn't just happen over night. We are creatures of our own habits - some good, some not so good. So what can we do to change that negative-sucking energy? According to Jon Gordon, writer of “The Energy Bus,” "Every person, career, company, organization, family, and team will have to overcome negativity, adversity, and challenges to define themselves and create success. Positive people, communication, interactions, work and team cultures produce positive results.” So here are some suggestions; write these down but add on to your list where necessary:

1. I am the boss of myself. 2. Focus on moving myself in the right direction. 3. Fuel myself with positive energy. 4. Share my energy and vision with others and invite them to join me on my energy ride. 5. Do not waste my energy on those that don't share or support my vision. 6. Have a purpose, a goal, a vision for what I want to accomplish. 7. Have fun and enjoy my ride!

Writing down our thoughts takes energy and our thoughts are very powerful. When we identify our desires and write down our visions, we begin the process of mobilizing that energy to create the life we want. Our thoughts can be applied to family, work, business, etc. Remember, you have only one ride through life so give it all you got and enjoy the ride! Welcome to our 9th Issue of AfroStyle Magazine.
